Last entry

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!!

Be prepared because this will be the last entry of English Didactics, I will be covering group 7 and group 8 classes.

The first group was Diana’s group. In their class they reviewed the time and how to tell time on a clock, but the differentiator from their class was that its focus was on listening more than anything else. They began their class by playing hangman, which I actually had forgotten of the existence of that game, to guess the word they had to think of an object in class and spell them.

Afterwards they had a recap on numbers and the use of “there is” and “there are”. Finally, the teachers played an audio in were the students had to take notes about words and phrases related to what they had seen on the class.

Then it was Carla’s group turn, the topic was practically the same but their main focus was on reading, their class actually had like a different kind of theme in comparison to the others, as their class was Alice in Wonderland themed. A really different idea but they did an amazing job. They first began by giving a daily routine of Alice in where they included everything the students had seen on the previous class, like the time and there is and there are.

They also introduced new vocabulary to the students that was focused with time. Later Gustavo made a true or false activity to test their reading skills and finally they did an activity in pairs were they read sentences with their new vocabulary.

Carla’s group was also really considerate to give all of the students a gift.

To conclude my blog, I would have to say its been a long ride. I was actually really skeptical of getting this subject from the start of the year as I always saw teaching as something I would never get myself into, but in the end who would have thought? Having already taught to classes has left me with a taste of what this journey could be and I'm glad to say I did enjoy both of my experiences. I really will like to thank you Teacher Orlando, for being such a patient, considerate and amazing teacher with all of us through this Didactic's journey.
