Blog 5
Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog!!
Unfortunately this is the last blog of the register, to which I have to say went by really quickly. We are almost in September!!
I actually was not able to attend past week's class due to medical reasons, although I asked some of my classmates what was the class the about and I read some of my classmate's blogs too.
Lic Orlando talked about the PPP classes, which consist on:
Presentation: In the initial stage, the teacher spends the
majority of his time explaining what the topic is going to consist about.
During this stage, students will master various concepts. This stage is
primarily for teachers and requires ingenuity to effectively guarantee student
understanding.
Practice: The interaction between students and teachers is twofold, with students actively practicing and teachers providing important guidance and supervision.
There are two practice modes: controlled practice and free
practice. The former minimizes the possibility of error and requires the
teacher to integrate some controlled activities before moving on to the second
mode - free practice. The second phase allows students to solidify what was
presented by the teacher, granting them greater linguistic freedom to
experiment and apply concepts independently.
Production: This stage belongs to the students; the teacher
must allocate sufficient time. In fact, this stage should take up the majority
of the lesson plan. While on this stage, students must be able to show results
of what they have learned on real life situations/tasks.
