Blog 4

Hello there and welcome back to my blog!!

From what I’ve read on other classmate’s vlogs I see what they meant when they referred to Mrs. Brendaly’s activity. I was quite confused at first because I don’t remember seeing her around or so until I read that she specifically called some students to help her on some tasks with other students.

Now moving on for this week we had the opportunity to receive a talk about our career from Mrs. Regina who is professional on the area of interpreting and also was a student at the university. She shared a lot of important and vital information about being an interpreter, she also gave us some tips on how to start and how to charge when we are new on the market, the same for the translation market and finally she also gave us some experiences she had throughout her career as an interpreter.

Here are some recommendations she gave us when charging for our work.

Here are some of the companies she shared with us to get equipment for our interpretation jobs.

After Mrs. Regina finished her talk Lic Orlando began the class. First he gave us a recap of previous week class, focusing mostly on lesson planning and how it is important to be flexible when we manage this kinds of situations.

He covered what magic moments/topics are, which at first it sounded weird to me as something related to a fairy tale, but they were the topics everyone wants to talk about.

He also made a real emphasis in lesson planning throughout the whole class, on how it is like a recipe and we need to make sure that result is our final objective.

I think this would be all for this week's blog, thank you for tunning in!
